filipino fact of yesterday 101102:
When Filipinos came to the United States in the early 1900's, they had to
compete against other ethnic groups to earn a living. Tensions grew between
white Americans and Filipinos. White Americans blamed Filipinos for taking
their women and their jobs. For this reason, many hotels, restaurants, and
even swimming pools had signs that read "POSITIVELY NO FILIPINOS ALLOWED!"
Sometimes they read, "NO DOGS ALLOWED!" This eventually lead to the passing
of the Tydings-Mcduffie Act of 1934, which limited Filipino immigration to
the U.S. to 50 per year.

happy 18 gin dees!
today was kinna sucky. had some good moments. but then was corrupted by either bad karma or just plain suckiness. lets just say that it sucks when you are late to class b/c you have to go back and apply the decal to your car so that you dont get a boot--three tardies. one afternoon with brisbois. tell me why he said as warnings on the form he put: "warning" and "conference with student." what kinna "why are you late" counting as a conference? whatever. anyway. that sucked. got a 65 on my physics boom lab. high point: i sounded smart in kubu's class. i felt like i knew what was going on for once. and we can now "take healthy precautions" in the class. afterschool. congregated at my house to pick up some stuff for the facs meeting and off to copy max on the bvld we went. went to copymax.. they sucked b/c no one knew what they were doing and they were being very unprofessional. i mean. if you dont know what youre doing.. then dont do it and get someone who does! jeez. they can be so stupid. if i was doing it.. id be in and out in five minutes. tell me why we spent frickin 30 minutes there and got nothing done. i just got frustrated.. said fuck it im leaving b/c it was already 2 when we decided to leave and we were going to be late for the meeting if we didnt leave. inexperienced bastards. anyway. had the meeting. went pretty well. didnt go as planned. mark couldnt make it to the meeting so we had to reschedule "the revival lesson" of an old classic. after that. came home. then liz ims me and asks to go to the thrift store. left with liz and picked up steezo and ed. thrifts stores were closed so we went to pembroke mall. highlight: had 2 corndogs and a strawberry smoothie at orange julius. then came my meeting with the x gen people. ugh. dont even get me started. can i just say that a certain political head is shady?? anyway. got frustrated cuz they think they know all this shit and we know how to run things but they dont think that "the youth" can handle it. hello?? we've been doing this for a long ass time. and they just come in b/c they want to represent and they think they can run the show? hell no. im tired with their "im older i know better" bullshit. i dont care if you have more funds then i do. dont you come in here and start effin with our plans. and i have my yearbook story due on monday. shit.

100902: somebody made my day today. i wont say who.. but ill tell you why: i woke up this morning and was about to leave for school and picked up my cell phone to take with me. low and behold.. there is the wonderful message on the front screen: 01 message with the little t and the envelope in the corner. well i open it.. thinking its homer or something b/c its usually homer or one of the other sac kids. well i open it and its "mr sexy san fran man". my face just went HEEYYYY!!!!! oh my lord. heehee! im so giddy still! i mean. it didnt say much.. all it said was "goodnight stranger" and it was sent to me at like 2 in the morning est.. but it made me feel special b/c i havent talked to him in like 5 weeks.. last time we talked was when he called when i was in san jose. and last time he sent me a message was like the first week of school. so it made me feel extra special cuz it was like.. aw. he thought of me and took the time to send me a message. so it made my day. it made me feel special.
anyway.. going about the rest of the day.. did the usual. went to class. went home. i actually fell asleep afterschool and woke up to my cell phone ringing and it was steezo callin for my locale. looked at the time and noticed that i was 20 minutes late for my officers meeting at 2. so hauled ass to school. man. then this newbie security/substitute guy stops me when i was getting onto the b stairs asking where i was going and he was kickin everyone out of the building. i told him that im going to an officers meeting and he just told me theres nothing going on and to go home. i told him i have an organizational meeting b/c im the president of my organization (facs--plug.) but hes like.. nope. go home. so i was just like fuck it went outside and went back in using another door on the c stairs. i mean shit. i saw that substitute sticker on your shirt you newbie. hes new. what authoritah does he have telling me that i dont have my own meeting. i was like hail naw. no. ive been here longer than he has that old newbie. whatever. anyway. got to my meeting.. and tell me why when i go upstairs there are people still up there and he was just regulating near the b stairs.. and there are people being loud gallavanting the hallways and he bothers me. oh well. planned out the
facs meeting for tomorrow in the schola afterschool.
plug.
well after that... dropped off berto, mimi, and sheryl. and went to kristens house for float. left there to meet berto at walmart to buy gifts for the new teachers. had some madd fun with that money. haha. anyway.. got that done. went home. checked out my proofs for yearbook pics. theyre ok. i wish i could put in my "god.bless.america.im.an.import.model" pic. haha. anyway. went to michele's casa to chillax. took her to brusters to fulfill or desire for icecreams. went back to her casa. watched dawsons creek and talked about boy drama and how we have a deprivation of affection. her b/c nates in az. me cuz im on the market and no ones buyin. :( . anyway. caught a frog with a plastic storage ziplock minus the lock. that was fun. that frog was great. played with it. took pics. anyway. let the frog go to its natural habitat of her front yard. came home around 930. good fun day. began with mr sexy san fran man and ended with a frog. there should be a cliche saying here about a frog and prince charming but whatever.

thing that pissed the fuck outta me today (you know its bad when fuck is bolded):
i was in the uva informational meeting in the schola during second block today and encountered by a racial comment by this one girl in the back. first off.. they were loud as a piece just yappin while the lady was trying to talk. it was as if the lady wasnt even there. i mean.. they were so rude. well at the end.. the lady gives mike some papers for comments. there werent enough for everyone so all of us started headin to mike for the papers. so when he ran out.. the girl in the back just yelled out: "oh hail naw! why you be only givin the papers to the motha fuckin filipinos?!?!" i was pissed. i swear. i just wanted to turn around and beat the shit out of her. i mean.. if she woulda gotten her lazy ass off her seat and got up like the rest of us then she would have gotten a damn paper. ignorant bitch.

Back in the 1920's and 1930's, the ratio of men to women was 20 to 1 (because of World War I). In some places it was 40 to 1. Because they were Filipino, they were not allowed to marry white women. In the state of California during 1926, the local authorities imposed anti-miscegenation laws on Filipinos. Filipinos had to drive out of state in order to marry white women.

1004-602 saturday was a fun-filled day. it began with me waking up around 8 am but rolling out of bed at 945. hopped in the chowder then ventured to elizabeth delimas house to meet up with chris rodil to go to william&mary for the f.i.n.d. d7 miniretreat at 11. got to liz's hosue around 1015 and waited for chris there. left to pick up laurie gonzales and began our adventure.. but first stopping at the gas station. while there.. saw ted imperial also pumpin gas. then me&liz saw tim cambiado so we busted out of the car and said howdy. we left the gas station around 1030 and we knew that we were going to be late b/c not only did louie called and said there was traffic.. but that it takes like an hour to get to w&m. so we ventured off. took pics of alot of weird things on the way: a license plate that said "ob wan," a black car which was taped together with electrical tape, chris being a bohemian amish man, etc. we finally made it to williamsburg and found w&m after three hours (we found the place at around 1) b/c of traffic and kinda getting lost (but not really we were going the right way but made a wrong turn and had to U) but we all were hungry and had a craving for chick-fila and thought damn.. we're hungry.. and we're already late so we might as well. so we drove past w&m in search of chick-fila. figured out that people in williamsburg love pancakes &/or waffles. saw too many places with pancakes &/or waffles in the title. anyway. looked high and low for some chick fila yet 'twas a failure. so we settled for some wendys. went back to w&m and bound ourselves onto our journey to our destined building. on our way: we saw mr. #1 matt young with an orange. we chatted for quite the bit. laurie called up kim riculan so her babys' daddy can speak to her. she was spellbound. chatted.. asked for directions from matt. found out that the building we were looking for was the one that we were standing next to. so we parted and saw the obsters and alex cena walk out soon followed by joe montano, wendell cruz & kris nario. the obsters told us to just go in and meet people. *cough*cough*. anyway. we headed in and met up with melissa delima and lawrence gonzales and louie and kristine. enjoyed the workshop. talked about the seven seas and the hidden "secret" sea of change. broke into groups so we could converse of communication and ways to communicate to others: internet, phone, smoke signals, streak (i mean street) teams, etc. bonded. joked. then watched ob do his thang and edumacated the uva and w&m kids with the power of facs. some antics left me&alex&kristine remembering why joe and obs made such a good team: "oh stop it!". haha jp. i escorted doc to the room b/c he was lost and he did his thang and left the audience in awe. we all left w&m around 6-ish. and reconvened at the delima home to go to the universal band experience aka ube at odu. ate there for a while. congregated the group: me&chris&laurie&liz&louie&alyssa&sheryl&mike and left for the purple dessert around 730 ish and got there around 810. the guy who opened up the show (oscar) was quite hey. he had a smooth voice.. and he played the guitar. he got points. anyway.. went back to the car to get shirts for marco mercado so he can rock out the stir it up shirt onstage. met up with c-belle fernandez&angeline fontimayor and later on with chris bautista&jeremy paule. watched dont expect much perform featuring marco on a song which was hot. saw an overly emotional band called msg. they were.. ok. me&chris kinda dogged them cuz that one guy was making love to the mic. "wow.. so he isnt faking it!" went onto intermission and bumped into jian zapata, kim riculan&ted who were convened in the back. saw my buddies billy and abel chillin so i decided to go up there and give my love. did some advertising for billy's band:
hughelow with astropop3, national radio, and colin jelliffe:
playing at matt malloy's in virginia beach
10.22.02 @ 10 pm.18+ only
plug. so if you can make it to that.. go. 18+. no teeny boppers. anyway. getting back on track.. saw vangie&aj again and talked to them for a while about sneaking me into the bar later on hidden in the camara bag.. it was a plan. joking lang. well. kinda. haha anyway. passed out the flyers for billy's band.. talked to kim&jian. sat back down for the show. watched straight-bent who were effin awesome. that guy.. he played the sax&keyboard at the same time.. then the guitar on the next song?! chris: oh no charlene!! he has first dibs to cha cha land! haha. oh man. then they started playing a song and we all thought it was sublime "santeria".. then he said the first line and i screamed out ^nsync! and won their cd. oh man. that was orgasmic. anyway. they were bangably good. and that bass player.. omg he was sexy. so was the drummer. too bad its the same guy that was always at the studio stogin. well they played this reggae version of "gone" by nsync.. and that was too damn cool for words. props to straight-bent and their madd talent. i basked in my post straigh-bent mode and then astropop3 started playin. they were cool too. that was awesome. bought their cd. gettin another one from billy later on. i love my old school alumni. what was that.. c/o '95? anyway.. love them. then blackbird pond started playin and that was hogwash. they eat pizzel. i didnt like them. left the purple dessert around 1145 or whatnot. started headin home. fell asleep in chris' car. woke up and we're at taco bell. i didnt want anything.. but the other car ate like ethiopian children at golden corral all you can eat buffet. checked the clock and it was like almost 1. switched cars and rode back to liz's house to pick up my car and went home around 130. got in some trouble with the parents b/c i didnt get to call them when they called.. too bad i didnt know they called b/c my phone was dead. anyway. went to bed.
woke up to drive to richmond around 10 in the morning. i was so tired. slept all day after i got there. shot a rifle though. many times. bless my redneck richmond family. joke lang. it was my lolo's bday. spent it sleeping and shooting cans in his backyard. and those were far too. got to use the snipe-vision or whatever. theyre great. im a natural. shot it dead center everytime. tried shooting a penny from a far ass long distance. missed by less than half an inch. tried shooting a quarter.. but no luck. ate and slept when i headed back in. then went home around 7.
