disclaimer: i hope not to offend anyone by this next blog. its nothing personal to the people in it.. but just the idea.
man. imma just flat out say it. in my mind.. drama exposed lost all its prestige it had back in the day when i was an underclassman. and i know i know.. i have friends in it. but you have to agree.. that drama exposed is not the same as it used to be. and i will say it: ms. evans was good. i mean. thats me saying that. she kept people in check. she really worked people. im glad she did what she did to me when i was a sophomore. cuz in all honesty.. i really did not deserve to be in it without the proper training. and yeah.. i do know the stories about the exceptions.. but seriously. cmon now. i mean.. when i was an underclassman.. i was like.. wow.. damn. shes good. i mean. i remember seeing people like rina onstage and i was in the audience and i was like.. i want to do that. theyre good. now. its like.. "um. alright. *shrugs*" ill admit. there are people in de that are good. i will admit that.. but now its like anyone can get in. and its not me being bitter about everything.. because i was asked to join last year too. and i said no. because i did not deserve it. i knew i did not belong in a troop like that. not because of the people.. but a troop with that prestige. i mean.. de was not just a class you can go to like choosing a class for your schedule. you had to work for it. at least.. thats what i believed. i mean. i remember seeing a de performance.. and i went twice.. and i saw this guy who could not project (both times) to save his life despite the fact that it was a comment after the show. and i was thinking.. how the hell did he get in??? i mean.. is it not required anymore? and then there were the people who just stare into space and are monotone when theyre doing a serious monologue to the audience. there was no emotion. no emphasis. just regurgitation of what was on paper. i dont know. maybe when i was a freshman i was decieved into believing they were good because i was just a freshman/sophomore and i looked up to the people who were juniors/seniors. maybe i was just decieved the whole time and i really dont know what im talking about. and no. im not just typing this because i was mad about all the biting from facs or whatever. "borrowing." in all seriousness.. when i see some performances.. im like.. what the eff are they doing in drama exposed? i mean.. is there not a standard or a reputation to work for anymore? is it just a class now?
anyway.. i can go on all day about it. and im not directing it toward anyone in particular.. past/present/future.. but its the idea.

so its been a while bloggers..
what has been going on lately in the day in the life of the processor? besides being bombarded by government projects, sociology presentations, ap english criticism papers, ap calculus tests, physics labs, and maelstrom, facs, prepping for ecasu workshops and performances and my portfolio?
.. nothing much at all.
so this past weekend was ecasu weekend. the east coast asian student union that is. it was quite the shindig. g-town was the fo' sho' remedy. unfortunately.. we couldnt go to the university store. i mean.. we would just miss it. right angeline? jeez. well.. friday, tanya picked me up to go to school then me, o, toe, den, and the font left for the g spot. we got there about eleven am which was cool cuz amazingly there was no traffic. so we get to the hotel and then we take the metro to gtown and meet up joe montano (man i havent seen that guy in a while) and we paruse (sp?) georgetown. we go to the smithsonian where i met this guy named mark. he was really nice. met him at the "through my fathers eyes" exhibit. he was going to ecasu too. well georgetown its quite the fun place. very "bourgeoisie." i wanted to get these books from urban outfitters: hip hop immortals, these 2 books on grafitti art, this one on photography.. the layouts were amazing. especially the hiphop one. i should have bought stuff while i could have. me and ang decided that we're going to start our own line of stuff. it will be off the budunkadunk. anyway. we hit up this wax store and the first person that came into mind was rayvon. it had some good wax. i saw this one for bboys and i put it to the turntable and was about to buy it. it had some nice beats. anyway.. we do more parusing..and we eat dinner.. then we register at the university. we see kim, laurie, and melissa there and was like yeah. alumni. god bless em. later we went to the student showcase.. where upon entering the door i hear my name and i turn around and its mark! i was like.. aw. he remembered my name! yeah. i felt special for this _________ long. haha. anyway. met up with marco and said what up. we didnt stay for long cuz we had to rehearse. we all went back to our hotel and rehearsed. dennis and berto wanted to stay with us. we wanted to go around the hotel and be scandelous.. but that was later. anyway. we had some "visitors" to our room.. jian and kim.. later joined by laurie, melissa, and suzanne. melissa is one funny chick. *bonk!* well the uva people left and we ordered pizza at 2 am. didnt get there til 3. and jian and kim stayed at our place until about 4 in the morning. the next morning.. we woke up at 8 when we were supposed to be down in the lobby by 8. so me and angelined hauled ass. and did our thing at the workshops. i feel accomplished. during our first session.. madd people showed up.. we filled our room. and when they left.. they went into the hallway.. and started talking up about our workshop. so the second session was packed up the wazoo. people were lining walls. it was great. we got madd props for doing it. and we're getting alot of exposure. alot of people want the cd anyway. the university store closed right when our workshop ended.. so when we got there.. we were five minutes late. damnit. then we went to banQuet.. where i met giles from re:verse. hes one cool guy. im in love with his voice. at the showcase.. we saw some cool acts. mellow yellow mango tribe tito felix and organic thoughts. theyre all awesome. i met marc from tito felix and trying to get him down here for the summer summit. im also trying to get some publicity for the summer summit too through FIND. anyway later that night.. we met some more really cool people who were waiting for the club. i met a cambodian guy named vizna. he was nice too. dennis and berto are stupid and scandelous. me and angeline took pictures. that is all we have to say about that. dennis and berto stayed with us that night until obs called up at like 4 in the morning looking for them. then we leave the next morning. we go to ikea. man. that was grreat. all in all. a fun fun fun trip.
